Badnawar: Fed-up of police pressure, a farmer from Kodakala village attempted to end his life consuming insecticide inside a police station here at Kanwan village of Badnawar tehsil in Dhar district.
The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon and the farmer was identified as 30-year-old Manoj Patidar. Police rushed him to the nearby health centre and later got him admitted to Badnawar hospital, where his condition is said to be stable. Tehsildar recorded his statement in presence of his family members and other villagers. Members of Bhartiya Kisan Sangh and villagers gathered outside the hospital demanding action against police station staff concerned. Meanwhile, Dr BL Patidar who is treating him at Badnawar hospital claimed that Patidar’s condition was improving.According to information, on intervening night of Friday–Saturday, Patidar caught Babu, son of Rugnath red-handed in a theft case. Later, Patidar and other villagers handed him over to dial 100 team.
However on Saturday, Patidar got a call from Kanwan police station saying that Babu had lodged a complaint against him and that he should reach the police station.
