BHOPAL: The Sironj administration has done the fake publicity of vaccination drive to get a pat on the back from the government.

On June 5, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan visited the residence of former minister, late Laxmikant Sharma, to extend condolences to the family.

Laxmikant Sharmaís brother, Umakant Sharma, is the local legislator.

To show their efficiency, the district administration had pasted posters outside every house on both sides of the road leading to the residence of Sharma. The poster contains the declaration ñ Mein Tikakrit Hun (Iím vaccinated). None of the residents of these houses has been vaccinated yet.

A resident of the alley where the Sharmas live says that he has a nine-member family, but none of them has been vaccinated yet.

Before Chouhanís visit, a poster containing the declaration ñMein Tikakrit Hun (Iím vaccinated) ñ had been pasted outside his house.

A female resident in the alley has also said the same thing. She says although she has not been vaccinated, a similar poster was pasted outside her residence.

Subdivisional magistrate of Sironj, Anjali Shah says that she directed the DMO to put such posters outside the residences of those whose family members had been vaccinated.

According to Shah, when the area was randomly checked, the residents said that they had been vaccinated.

She says she will check if the posters have been pasted outside the residences of those who had not been actually vaccinated.

There are many misconceptions in small towns and rural areas about vaccination. Therefore, this fake publicity was done to show the Chief Minister that the administration is efficient.
