Explosives were recovered by the office of former union minister and Congress leader Suresh Pachori’s nephew Gaurav at Kasturba Nagar on Monday. CCTV footage showed a man with face wrapped in cloth crossing the office boundary wall. The police described explosives as Diwali cracker laced with nails and petrol. The police claimed that no ammonium nitrate was found.
Gaurav Pachori, who owns rice mill in Kasturba Nagar under Govindpura police station, immediately informed the police. Explosive, nails, petrol and other material were recovered from gallery. Prima facie it seems like an attempt to detonate his office. The incident occurred on Sunday night. CSP (Govindpura) Amit Kumar said, “It was Diwali cracker with nails and almost 50 ml petrol. A youth entered the premises around 1:30am and placing it near the office escaped from the scene. It was a naïve bid to create panic in office. We have registered a case and started investigation to track down the youth.”
