Bhopal: Process for construction of 80 hostels in Schools of Excellence run by school education department across the state has begun. These hostels are spread across 40 districts. An amount of Rs 316 crore 11 lakh will be spent on the construction. Under the scheme, hostel in Subhash School of Excellence in the state capital is already in operation.
Hostels with 100 seat capacity each for girls and boys are being constructed in campuses of Schools of Excellence at district headquarters. A sum of Rs 3.85 crores for construction of boys hostel will be spent, similarly approximately Rs 3.86 crores will be spent to construct girls hostel.
Hostels will be fully equipped with facilities of library, computer lab, training centre and wash rooms etc. Hostels will be designed in the manner so that student could get a proper study environment. The minister for public works, Sajjan Singh Verma has instructed for completion of all the approved buildings with quality within the stipulated time.
A scheme to run hostel in the premises of schools of excellence has been prepared by the school education department in order to facilitate meritorious students of class X, of 41 selected districts, to enable them to prepare for competitive examinations.
Tenders for all the approved works have already been invited. Forty districts, in which these hostels have been approved include Ashok Nagar, Balaghat, Betul, Bhind, Burhanpur, Chhatarpur, Chindwara, Damoh, Datia, Dewas, Guna, Gwalior, Harda, Hoshangabad, Indore, Jabalpur, Katni, Khandwa, Mandsuar, Morena, Narsinghpur, Neemuch, Panna, Raisen, Rajgarh, Ratlam, Rewa, Sagar, Satna, Sehore, Seoni, Shajapur, Sheopur, Shivpuri, Sidhi, Singrauli, Tikamgarh, Ujjain, Umaria and Vidisha.
