Targeting Congress leaders over their comments on IAF airstrikes in Pakistan, top brass ex-servicemen and officers’ association members said that politicians should refrain from doubting armed forces and their calibre.
“Posing question on Balakot surgical strike by IAF is an insult to the armed forces and it would not be tolerated,” said retired wing commander UK Choudhary addressing media persons here on Monday. At the press conference organised by association, the officials slammed political leaders for raising suspicion on Balakot air strike.
“Indian Mig-21 the second generation jet fighter had gunned down the fourth generation jet fighter F-16 and had also destroyed the launch pads of the terrorists in Balakot and Mujfarbad,” said Choudhary.
Hailing the forces, the retired officer claimed that around 250 terrorists were killed in the strike and the same has been reported by the local people and other satellites reports. “Opposition political parties by raising doubt on the air strike are showing their cheap mentality. We will not tolerate the allegations and the army will never ever forgive such leaders,” he added.
Without naming the politician, he said, “One of the former chief minister had raised the issue doubt over air strike because of his sick mentality”. He also claimed that the surgical strike was sole jurisdiction of the army and the country should be proud of its forces and never suspect their working. On being asked whether he has allegiance to BJP, Choudhary fervently denied but stated that he was ‘president of BJP ex-men wing from 2003 to 2010’.
