BHOPAL: Misrod police have booked former DGM of a private firm for usurping funds to the tune of Rs 17 lakh, by making fake appointments. The alleged accused Harsh Lal Diwedi had claimed that he has given appointment to 4 doctors but later only two employees were found to be real. Not only this, their qualification turned out to be only high school pass. Diwedi’s had resigned in 2018. His scam came to fore when the new DGM went to IISER for verifying the details; he was all shocked to find that no such appointments were done in the institute by the firm.
According to ASI Bahadur Singh of Misrod police station, the accused Harsh Lal Diwedi worked with a Mumbai based firm BIS that provides staff to institutes. The accused tols BIS that he has placed four MBBS doctors with the IISER. And in the name of their salary, he withdrew Rs 17 lakh from the BIS’s account. He had shown the appointments of Sandeep Kumar Tripathi, Neha Ajay Mishra, Geeta Shyamvihasri Mishra and Jivendra Vaijnath as doctors in IISER.
However, when his scam came to fore once the new DGM arrived following Diwedi’s resignation from the firm.The accused has been booked him under sections 420, 465, 467, 471 and 120 of the IPC. ASI Singh said an FIR has been registered and probe is on.
