BHOPAL: Economic Offence Wing, investigating the e-tendering scam, is likely to summon the officers whose digital signatures were found in possession of private parties. In the recent arrests and seizure of data from Osmo IT solution, Bhopal and Antrance Software Company, Bangalore, the probe agency had found that private vendors had access to the digital signature of government officials. Till date, the EOW has arrested five people including three directors of Osmo, vice president of Antrance and an OSD of MP State Electronics Development Corporation.
While going through the data and documents of Osmo, the EOW found that the company authorities were in possession of digital signatures of IAS officers and other concerned government officials. Having access to the digital signature, the Osmo company had managed to manipulate the data of tender documents and even forwarded the benefits to certain other companies.
The official of Antrance Company, who provided server had helped Osmo in the manipulations. The company official, despite noting the changes been done after the completion of the tender process, chose to remain silent and did not report the matter to MPSEDC. Now the concerned government officials are on EOW radar. They would shortly be served notices asking them to appear before the probe agency to get their statement recorded. The EOW will inquire from them how the private parties got access to their digital signature. The probe agency would inquire into their role in the e-tendering scam.
