Bhopal: The Election Commission of India has sought details on ‘office of profit’ issue of 116 MLAs from chief secretary of the state. The EC had already asked about the two ministers – Paras Jain and Deepak Joshi on the issue.
The Aam Admi Party have filed the petition to the governor, regarding the disqualification of 116 member of legislative assembly, the membership of seven minister are in danger.
It is claimed that the MLAs had became the member of Jan Bhagidari Sammitis (JBS) of the colleges and have obtained benefits from it.
The governor forwarded the complaint to the ECI and the ECI has asked the CS to its letter dated May 11, to submit the details.
The ECI have asked about the notification of the JBS, terms and authorities, any remuneration provide to the chairman, co-chairman, president, vice president, members by way of salary allowances, sitting and others. The other facilities like government accommodation, staff car, transport allowances and others. Copies of notes and orders of the government creating office, post of the JBS.
Copies of appointment letter of all 116 MLAs, nature of duties of the MLAs, weather any office space provided to them with the detail proof. Details of supporting staff provided to them, any residence provided, details of phone if any provided and expenditure including monthly charges and others.
Camp office facilities provided, details of any other facilities or pecuniary benefits, nature of duties assigned to each of them as JBS. It is asked that, whether these variation of chairman, co-chairperson, president, vice president, members are exempted from disqualification under the acts of MP Vidhan Mandal Sadasya Nirtharta Nivwan Adhiniyan 1967.
The EC have called the papers of 116 MLAs in which seven of them had became minister in the state, including health minister Rustam Singh, food and civil supplies Omprakash Dhurve, woman and child development minister Archana Chitnis, higher education minister Jaibhan Singh Paviya, MSME minister Sanjay Pathak, OBC and minority welfare minister Lalita Yadav and horticulture minister Surya Prakesh Meena.
The member of Vichar Madhya Pradesh, Akchay Hunka claimed that in the notification of the state government, it is clearly stated that the members (MLA) will going to get the allowances if they attend the meeting, which comes under the ‘office of profit’ norms.
