Bhopal: Duped Pune doc has no qualms about losing Rs 25L

Bhopal: A Pune-based doctor who was duped of Rs 25 lakh has forgotten about the monetary loss he suffered here in the city and has no hard feelings, rather he is happy the manner police perused the case and brought the culprits to book.
Pune-based doctor Jayant Deshpandey said that police have arrested the fraudsters, however they have spent all the money they had duped from him.

Since accused were left with no money, police couldn’t recover anything, but I am thankful to the cops to have arrested the culprits, said the doctor, congratulating the cops for the great work. The accused were sent to jail and are booked for the crime.

Deshpandey had lodged a complaint with the MP Nagar police in April 2018, stating that he was duped by four persons. He was then staying in a hotel at MP Nagar. Police had arrested four persons while they were trying to dupe another man using the same trick as they did in the case of Deshpandey. After the accused confessed to have duped the Pune doctor in past, the cops took them to their native place in Mumbai, however they failed to find any money there.

The incident took place in a MP Nagar based hotel where the doctor was staying, when the accused posed as officials of a finance company. They took Rs 25 lakh from the victim and after that they stopped receiving his calls. A case was then registered with police and three persons were booked in connection with the incident. However, by the time of their arrest they had spent all the money and on finding it, the doctor stopped asking for a recovery.

Deshpandey said that he has no qualms for not getting the money back and rather he was happy that cops worked very hard to get the accused behind the bars. Police team has done a good job and now we can’t expect the money back when the accused have spent it, he added. City superintendent of police (CSP) MP Nagar Umesh Tiwari says that the accused had spent money and we tried to recover it but they had nothing to return. We can attach their properties if it is proven that they were purchased by the duped money, else the amount can’t be recovered, he added.
