Special Task Force of Bhopal unit arrested three inter-state drug peddlers carrying opium powder worth Rs 1 crore, on Monday evening. The Bhopal Court has sent the trio on one-day remand to STF on Tuesday.  SP STF Rajesh Bhadoria informed accused Deepak Lodhi is a resident of Ratlam, and Ahamad Khan and Arjun hails from Mandsaur. The STF got the tipoff that a drug consignment was reaching to city.

The police laid a trap and nabbed three from Nadra bus stand on late Monday evening. The accused had brought the powder from Malda of West Bengal and were waiting for local peddler to sell the contraband. The trio confessed to have sold the drugs to peddlers in Rajasthan, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, informed SP. STF is on the lookout to trace the entire chain of peddlers in the state as well as other parts of the country.

Hub of drugs!
Drug peddlers have become very active in the state. The STF had busted the first synthetic drug racket involved in supplying drug in the ‘Line Parties’ of closed group. Peddlers engaged in selling ecstasy drug Methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA) in the capital city and in Indore were nabbed by STF last July.

According to sources the synthetic drug being supplied to high-end clientele in hookah bars and lounges had come to the fore, but subsequent probe pointed towards a much bigger clientele, which particularly includes wealthy youngsters (both girls and boys), who form part of closed groups indulging in smaller variant of rave parties.
