Bhopal: A sharp drop of over 5 degree Celsius in the day as well as in night temperature was recorded in the state capital on Saturday. Chilly weather made a comeback in the city. For the last couple of days, an upward trend was observed in temperature but all of a suddenly it has taken a reverse turn.
Bhopal recorded a maximum temperature of 24.5 degree Celsius which was 4 degree Celsius below normal while it recorded a minimum temperature of 11.7 degree Celsius which was 1.6 degree Celsius below normal. Day temperature recorded a drop of 5.2 degree Celsius and night temperature of 5.7 degree Celsius.
Indore recorded a maximum temperature of 25.5 degree Celsius which was 4.4 degree Celsius below normal while it recorded minimum temperature of 12.7 degree Celsius which was just above normal. There was sharp drop of 2.7 degree Celsius in day time.
Drop of over four degree Celsius was recorded at various places Guna, Khargone, Rajgarh, Shajapur, Sheopur, Damoh. Umaria recorded a fall of 4.8 degree Celsius. Similarly, Shajapur, Indore, Pachmarhi and Sheopur recorded a fall of 3 degree Celsius in day temperature.
Rain also lashed various places like Paraswara recorded 4cm rainfall and Malajhkhand recorded 3cm while, Anuppur, Balaghat, Amakantak each recorded rain fall of 2cm in the last 24 hours. According to meteorological department, dry weather will prevail over northwest and central parts of the country with clearance of cloudy weather. This was reason, day as well as night temperature reduced drastically.
