SHIVPURI: Acting on a tip-off, a police team nabbed a dreaded dacoit while he was moving around with armed accomplices to commit a crime. The police caught him while others managed to escape under the cover of darkness.
According to official information, the SP Sunil Pandey was told by an informer that absconding accused Katya alias Vijay Mongya was seen in the Barkanala area of Pohri and was planning to commit a major crime. The SP immediately asked the local police to take action. The police saw three dacoits near a nullah. The arrested accused has confessed to committing dacoities in different parts of the state and the country. A gun and live cartridges have been seized from his possession.
