Bhopal: Directorate of medical education (DME) released fresh NEET 2017 counselling date in accordance with Supreme Court and High Court decisions, on Wednesday. The courts had instructed the state government to give the admission to state domicile students as under the state admission notifications. Earlier the DME had given the admission to other states’ students ignoring the admission notification.

A petition was filed by Vinayak Parihar in HC Jabalpur, to which the state government filed a petition in Supreme Court, but the court uphold the HC decision and instructed the government to complete the admission process within 10 days. DME first round will commence from August 31 (00:01 hours) and end on September 1 (9 am). All merit list students are expected to complete first admission formalities by September 4 (8 pm). Any further round of counselling would be decided after completion of the first round.

A new merit list by the DME would also entail candidates applying for admission under NRI quota. Combined counselling would take place for MBBS and BDS courses in private and government medical colleges in Madhya Pradesh. Publishing of round one allotment will be declared on September 3. The students have to report to the allotted medical and dental colleges for scrutiny and admission, just after the declaration of allotment result till September 4, till 8 pm.

All the admission process will be done online and only single chance will be given for choice filling and locking. Students who have already submitted their allotment letter including their documents to the colleges, have to present their certified copy of the letter to the new allotted college.

Students who have already deposited their fees in the colleges, will get their fees adjusted to new allotted college, whereas new students have to deposit the fees through MP online or demand draft. It is suggested that the students should keep eye on the departmental website for the new instructions.
