Come summer and the household electricity consumption hits the roof burning a hole in th pocket. MP Madhya Kshetra Vidyut Vitran Company has come up with tips for consumers about right handling of Air-Condition, fans, and coolers to lower your electricity bill this summer.
The discom has advised people to only use ISI marked electric appliances. Old wiring consumes more electricity and there is always chance of fire. Only trained and licensed electricians should be allowed for repairing. Right usage of electronic gadgets like AC, Fans and air coolers would help to bring down the electricity consumption, says the discom authorities.
Keep fan and AC on simultaneously
The discom has advised to keep fan on while using Air-Condition. Switching fan on will help the AC compressors to being temperature down in shoter span thus saving electricity. AC filter are required to be cleaned at regular interval of 10-15 days. Besides, windows and doors need to be tightly closed while AC is on.
Proper ventilation for cooler
Ensure proper ventilation in the room. Take good care of air cooler. There must be proper oiling and greasing in fans and pumps. Regulators and condensers must be checked. Saturating the cooling pads before use.
Proper servicing of fans
Proper servicing of fan should be done to check electricity consumption. Out of order condensers and ball-bearing should be immediately replaced. Use electronic regulators.
Resist opening refrigerator door frequently
Users should refrain from opening the refrigerator door frequently. Nor should it be left opened for long as compressors have to work more to maintain the temperature and thus guzzles more electricity. The more compressors work, the more will be electricity bills. No hot eatables should be placed in the fridge.
