BHOPAL: “There are many colleges in Madhya Pradesh which still depend on generators for power supply and have oldest versions of operating systems. It is a challenge in Madhya Pradesh to get the systems updated. There is lack of robust systems and there are data entry discrepancies and we can help the departments in this,” said V Ramaswamy, Global Head, TCS iON in a press conference at a city hotel on Tuesday.
Ramaswamy said TCS had been keenly interested in curbing malpractices, errors and delays in result declarations and had a system which brought transparency into the entire process.
“Digitisation will also save effort and time. We have been working with big customers in MP to redefine the process of conducting examinations and to deliver a good experience to candidates and assure fair and secured assessment to various examination boards. More than 62 lakh candidates have been through digital assessments conducted by TSC iON in the state,” he said.
He also said in Madhya Pradesh digitisation was still in early phase as there were many colleges which had oldest versions on operating systems. “We have done a pilot project with MP Board of Secondary Education and they were quite happy with the system of examination assessment but they said they had budget constraints which was why they could not go ahead with the project as of now, Ramaswamy said adding they also were in conversation with Vyapam on digitisation but no positive response was heard from them. Tata iON is a unit of Tata Consultancy Services which focuses on education institutions and exam boards.
