Khetia: A rural road from village Dhawadi to Charlipehta has been constructed within one month under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana. Sources said that construction of this 3.5 km long road was pending for past five years and after news was published about the pending work, the construction was done by the agency concerned.
The road connects villages in the hill region and located on the borders of state and district. Local residents have been suffering a lot in absence of the road. The department concerned had sanctioned the road construction in February this year after cancelling it three times in the past. After giving approval, the road construction was completed in March.
For getting the approval of road construction, village Dhawadi’s sarpanch Ramesh Padavi, deputy sarpanch Gulab Singh Wadavi, ex-sarpanch Ganesh Karma and residents of village Charlipetha Tar Singh Parasram Patil and others expressed their gratitude towards media for highlighting the pending road construction work and department concerned for sanctioning the construction work.
Meanwhile, the villagers informed that sub divisional officer (SDO-revenue) Satyendra Thakur expressed his annoyance over not constructing pedestrian path on both sides of newly constructed road and directed that it should be done as per the norms. The road construction agency assured to do this, but so far work has not begun.
