Bhopal: Delhi Public School, Kolar Road and Sharda Vidya Mandir, Neelbad emerged winners of the Inter-school Annual Science Quiz Contest for middle and high school students. The finale for both the categories was held at the Regional Science Centre on Monday.
The contest was organised by the Regional Science Centre, in collaboration with Canara Bank, Bhopal Circle. The teams of Rishabh Kothari and Rudra Bahal of DPS and Hardik Gurudev and Devashish Kanhere of SVM won the contest in the middle and high school categories respectively.
The runners-up were Carmel Convent School, Ratanpur. The teams included Sagnik Mandal and Anmol Joshi (middle school category) and Pranay Nair and Malhar Mandsaurwale (high school category). The preliminary rounds were initiated on January 21. In all, nine preliminary and three semi-final rounds were conducted for each category from January 21 to February1.
In the finale, questions on physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics, general knowledge, visuals, Science of food and scientific legacy of India were asked in various rounds. Besides the general rounds buzzer round and rapid fire round were also conducted.
Rahul Bhave, deputy general manager, Canara Bank, Bhopal Circle was the chief guest at the prize distribution ceremony. He appreciated the efforts of Regional Science Centre for inculcating scientific temper among students. Ashok Vyas, PRO, Canara Bank and SP Singh, branch manager, Canara Bank, New Market were also present. The guests gave away the prizes, certificates and trophies to the winners.
