BHOPAL: A two-day training on human trafficking was inaugurated at police headquarters on Wednesday by the director general of police (DGP) Rishi Shukla. The programme is being organised in collaboration with a social organisation named ‘Shakti Vahini’.
Shukla in his address said human trafficking is becoming a challenge for police. Additional director general of police (ADGP), crimes against women, Aruna Mohan Rao said organised crime syndicates were behind human trafficking. Programmes are organised from time to time to sensitise police officers to the problem, she said. Advocate Ravikanth, director of Shakti Vahini said that the highest number of incidents of missing children has been reported from West Bengal. He said states need to work in coordination to deal with human trafficking. Ravikanth also threw light on the legal aspects of the crime.
