Bhopal: Coriander seeds worth Rs 4.6 lakh seized

Garoth: Administrative team led by sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) Arpit Verma and Garoth Krishi Upaj Mandi secretary Sanjay Soni on Saturday seized 360 bags of coriander seeds from a truck here at Jodama village.

According to information, acting on a tip off the team intercepted the truck (PB 07/AS 6479), which was transporting 92 quintal of coriander seeds to Delhi from Shamgarh without paying due taxes and seized the seeds stacked in 360 gunny bags. Officials informed that the total cost of seized coriander seeds has been estimated at around Rs 4.6 lakh. The officials also slapped a fine of Rs 46,000 with Rs 5,000 additional fine as compromise tax on the vehicle owner Mangilal Udiya from Shyamgarh.
