Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Government railway police (GRP) has detained a person for allegedly killing a 21-year-old in the running train. The incident had taken place near Sehore town on Tuesday.
The victim, identified as Muskan Hada, 21, a resident of Shukhalia in Indore, was on board in Narmada Express and was travelling to Bhopal from Indore to meet her brother.
Talking to journalists at his official residence here on Wednesday, Home Minister Narottam Mishra said the police have detained a suspect identified as Sagar Soni, a resident of Indore. “The suspect is being interrogated. The police will soon solve the case,” Mishra said.
GRP sources said that Muskan, who was married to Kapil Yadav, a resident of Indore, was living separately from her husband for past few months.
“She was in relationship with Sagar Soni. This led a dispute between her and her husband. Therefore, she was living separately. Few days back, she broke her relationship with Sagar, too,” said a senior GRP officer.
Sources said that Sagar wanted to continue his relationship with Muskan, but she was not ready. “He was following her for past few days. On Tuesday, when she boarded Narmada Express, Sagar also joined her,” said the officer, wishing anonymity.
Notably, Muskan, who was travelling in D-3 coach of the train, had informed her brother that a man was teasing her. The brother had, subsequently, informed police by calling on Dial 100. A GRP team was waiting at Sehore railway station to attend the girl. But, the accused killed her by slitting her throat and escaped jumping off the train at the outer side of Sehore railway station.
