Bhopal: Launching a scathing attack on Congress, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan alleged that during its tenure the Congress government did not take any interest in opening schools and colleges as it wanted children to remain illiterate, who could not develop an understanding to question the government.
Chouhan alleged that Congress neglected the intellectual development of the people as it wanted to see them merely as their followers, said chief minister addressing a jan ashirwaad yatra in Deori of Sagar district on Wednesday.
Chouhan said he would never let people face adversities as they had given him respect and affection. Chouhan severely attacked Congress for not promoting development in its term. BJP government made concrete efforts for the propagation of education, claimed Chouhan. Giving details of girl child education, he said the government was sponsoring education of the girl students pursuing higher education.
He also sought blessings from people to complete the developmental works in the district. Chouhan also said that recruitment in police department would be made soon and the youths of the state, joining police, would work to streamline law and order in the state. Chief Minister said that Congress had raised objection to his statement on good roads in Madhya Pradesh.
He challenged Congress leaders to come and see the good conditions of road in the state. Chief Minister said there were no roads, electricity and water during Congress regime. The BJP government made arrangements for all the three and today, the roads from Bhopal to Sagar are in good shape. Chouhan held Congress MLA responsible for lack of development in Deori. Chief Minister appealed people to vote for the BJP in 2018 assembly polls so that development could take place in Deori.
Earlier, Chouhan’s yatra reached Padli of Sagar, where it was accorded a warm welcome. The local BJP leaders welcomed Chouhan at the helipad. Chouhan addressed a huge public gathering here. Minister Gopal Bhargava, Bhupendra Singh and MP Laxminarayan Yadav were present on the occasion.
