Bhopal: All Congress stalwarts who lost in assembly elections will be fielded in Lok Sabha elections. The decision stems from non-availability of good candidates for General Elections 2019. The party is hopeful of bagging a major chunk of LS seats from the state through its stalwarts.
Former leader of opposition Ajay Singh, who lost from his family seatChurhat, may get ticket from Sidhi; Sunderlal Tiwari, who lost from Gur, mayget ticket from Rewa; former Assembly deputy speaker Rajendra Singh, who lostfrom Amarpatan, may get ticket from Satna; Mukesh Nayak, who lost electionsfrom Pawai, may get ticket from Damoh; Ramnivas Rawat, who lost from Vijaypur, may get ticket from Morena; Arun Yadav, who lost elections from Budhni, may getticket from Khandwa; and Suresh Pachauri, who lost elections from Bhojpur, mayget ticket from Hoshangabad for Lok Sabha elections.
These leaders have been given indications to prepare for the Lok Sabhaelections. Chief Minister Kamal Nath is facing difficulty in adjusting allthese leaders in government.
Nath also has to adjust leaders denied tickets in assembly elections inboards and corporations. The leaders working in the party organization are alsoto be adjusted through political appointments. This has made it difficult forstalwart leaders to get plum posts in the government.
Singh, Rawat and Yadav are also among contenders for the post of stateCongress chief. As chances of change in post of PCC chief are nil till LokSabha elections, these leaders have no other option but to contest Lok Sabhaelections.
