Bhopal: In wake of state assembly elections slated later this year, the All India Congress Committee is likely to declare the new office-bearers of the state soon. The AICC announced office-bearers of the Chhattisgarhon Saturday and the list of names for MP may be declared in a day or two.
The state in-charge and AICC general secretary Deepak Bawaria held a meeting with top party leaders including Members of Parliament Kamal Nath, Jyotiraditya Scindia, leader of opposition in state assembly Ajay Singh, Arun Yadav, Kantilal Bhuria, Suresh Pachori and others in New Delhi on Sunday.
The state assembly elections are likely to take place in December, however, both Congress and BJP are already in poll mood and began preparations. In Chhattisgarh, the party high command has made many changes while declaring the office bearers, but retained state president Bhupesh Baghel on the post. The party has appointed two acting presidents in the state. In view of the changes made in the neighbouring state, the party leaders here are expecting that appointments of two working presidents could be declared, presently Arun Yadav is the PCC president.
In Chhattisgarh, Congress legislature party leader and deputy CLP leader, disciplinary committee and communication committee have been declared. For the forth coming elections, five committees have also been declared. In Madhya Pradesh, all eyes are on three top leaders and MPs Kamal Nath, Jyotiraditya Scindia and Digvijay Singh. The supporters of these leaders, who have equal hold in the state politics, are clamouring for assembly tickets. Leader of opposition Ajay Singh, Arun Yadav, Suresh Pachori also have good support base and they too will pay a decisive role in upcoming polls.
MLA Jeetu Patwari, who recently was recently seen with AICC president Rahul Gandhi during farmer’s protest, may also get some important responsibility. The other leaders MLAs Mukesh Nayak, Bala Bacchan Ram Niwas Rawat, Dr Govind Singh, Jaivardhand Singh and a few more local leaders may get new duties to discharge.
