Bhopal: Congress men draw strategy for Digvijay Singh, RSS for Sadhvi Pragya Thakur

BHOPAL: A day ahead of the crucial polling, Congress and BJP members held several meetings deliberating upon the booth management strategies.  The main election office of Congress and BJP wore a deserted look with the party workers returning to their native districts as high-octane poll campaigning came to an end on Friday. As microphones fell silent, party candidates chose to walk the streets for door-to-door canvassing unmindful of the scorching heat. On Sunday, the Congressmen were seen going in and out of former chief minister Digvijay Singh’s residence at Shymala Hills and Amrapali Enclave as they discussed the election strategy.

Singh contacted voters through door-to-door campaign in Berasia and Sehore areas. The former chief minister also had meetings with key Congress leaders of the areas and got the first-hand knowledge of the ground situation. The party has deputed as many as seven party workers on each booth. The party leaders asked the volunteers and booth workers to ensure that electorates come out in large number for voting during morning hours. In view Ramazan, voters of minority community have been urged to exercise their franchise in early hours of the day. Congressmen were also seen urging Christian voters to go for voting in the morning as they too have prayer meet at Church to attend on Sundays. These communities are said to be voters of Congress.

RSS workers were also seen preparing strategy for BJP candidate Sadhvi Pragya Thakur. RSS, along with BJP workers, has deputed its volunteers at booth level. RSS has also prepared groups to motivate people to go for voting. The meetings of the volunteers were conducted. Pragya also convened meetings with RSS workers at her residence. She also spoke on phone with the party workers of the areas which she could not cover during campaigning. Pragya also did campaigning in the colonies that come under Govindpura assembly seat.

Digvijaya misusing power: Pragya
Pragya, issuing a statement, has alleged that Congress candidate Digvijaya Singh is resorting to cheating and misusing the government machinery. She alleged that Singh continued his campaigning till late Friday night despite of the fact that campaign had ended. Pragya accused the district administration of favouring Singh claiming that several employees were working for him. She also urged Election Commission to provide security to BJP workers on the polling day.

‘BJP does not have answer for black money, employment’
BJP is not having any answer for the black money, employment, misery. That’s why the BJP had given such a candidate who is facing serious charges and only this and her statements are also full of hatred, the Congress candidate form Bhopal Digvijaya Singh appealed the voters of Bhopal, on the eve of the polling day, here on Saturday.
He further added that “Bhopal is having huge possibility of development; it can be develop as an educational hub, tourism hub, sports hub, employment hub. When I was chief minister of the state I had developed Bhopal Lake Boat club, VIP road, Bhoj wet land project to name a few”. He claimed that he will be always available for the service of people of Bhopal.
