BHOPAL: All India Congress Committee general secretary in-charge of state Deepak Bawaria on Thursday asked Congress MLAs to strengthen grassroot workers specially the polling booth agents in order to win assembly and parliament elections.
At a meeting, he instructed MLAs to support other organisations of the party in raising campaigns against BJP-led state government. The state leaders were asked to raise issues of farmers and youths in their constituencies.
Bawaria had received complaints that some MLAs are not active and not helping party’s other organisations. In 2013 assembly elections, 40 sitting MLAs had faced defeat. The report of inactive MLAs will be forwarded to AICC for assessment.
