The Congress Election Committee meeting is not able to decide unanimously on the seats of major cities and some important seats. The party is yet to release its first list, although 80 names had been finalised by the committee. As per the sources a meeting which was held to decide the 150 names for the assembly elections, remained inconclusive as the party was not able to arrive at unanimity on around 60 names for seats.
Sources claim that these seats belong to urban area specially the four major cities including Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior and Jabalpur. According to sources in every city around 5 to 9 seats are present and the aspirants are divided into groups, due to groupsim the names are not able to tabled unanimously.
For seat four to five aspirants are making claims, earlier the Scrutiny Committee has decided the two names for every seats, the state body has sent the panel of three names for the Scrutiny Committee. The Committee has picked two names each, but sources claim the leaders Kamal Nath, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Ajay Singh and Digvijay Singh are having their own views about the aspirants.
Whereas the AICC president Rahul Gandhi has to decide the final names, but the claims of the leader cannot be ignored. State media president Sobha Oza said that the list will be finalised shortly and the list will be released on October 30.
