BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra, said the casteist remarks of Congress leader CP Joshi against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union minister Uma Bharati shows that the Congress believes in caste politics. Congress leader not only insulted the Prime Minister and Bharati but also Hindus, said Patra, while interacting with mediapersons here on Friday. Rajya Sabha MP JVL Narsimharao was also by Patra’s side as he attacked the Congress.
Patra, taking a dig at Congress, said the party was showing its frustration sensing its sure defeat in the assembly polls and it was resorting to its policy of ‘Muslimon Ko Jodo Aur Hinduyon Ko Todo’ (unite Muslims and divide Hindus). Patra said the people of the state would not tolerate the insult of Hindus by Congress.
Patra said Congress national president Rahul Gandhi seeking apology from Joshi was mere drama. The BJP leader demanded Rahul to immediately remove Joshi. Intensifying the attacks, Patra said that Congress state president Kamal Nath should stop treating Madhya Pradesh as an ATM. People of the state have to decide whether they want BJP which work for development or leaders taking 15 per cent commission, said BJP leader.
Narsinmharao alleged that Nath as minister in the Central government did immense corruption and Congress national president Rahul Gandhi always protected him. Rao claimed that the then commerce minister Anand Sharma had admitted in the Parliament in 2009 that there was scam in import of rice but when the demand for CBI inquiry was raised, Congress government, at the behest of Rahul Gandhi, hushed it up. The intentions behind Nath’s appointment as head of Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee were to mint money through corruption from the innocent people of the state, alleged Rao.
