Bhopal: Congress has approached Election Commission against former chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for his tweet on Congress national president Rahul Gandhi. In the complaint to the commission on Thursday, the Congress said that Chouhan has uploaded a morphed video of Rahul Gandhi addressing an election rally on his tweeter handle, said party spokesperson Dhanopia.
The statement of Gandhi has been changed in a wrong manner, which is the violation of the election model code of conduct, said Dhanopia. Meanwhile, Chouhan re-tweeted and clarified that ‘ the video was sent by someone and he had had tweeted it’. In yet another tweet, the BJP vice president said, “I just came to know that someone has edited the video, but Rahul Gandhi always tells lie, so one cannot confirm what he is speaking”. Dhanopia has filed two other complaints against BJP Bhopal Lok Sabha candidate Pragya Thakur and mayor Alok Sharma, to the ECI. Complaint against Pragaya is on her terming Mahatma Gandhi’s assassin Nathuram Godse a “patriot”. The comment was made by BJP leader while campaigning in Agar-Malwa. In complaint against Mayor, the Congress has alleged that Sharma entered the polling booth wearing the party symbol. Similarly Pragya Thakur also entered the booth wearing the party symbol, Dhanopia mentioned in the complaint to EC.
Importantly the presiding officer of both the polling stations did not raise any objection. It is alleged that the act of the leaders violates the MCC norms.
