Bhopal: In a meet chaired by divisional commissioner Ajatshatru Shrivastav and attended by officials of public woks department (PWD) and head of departments (HODs) of medical colleges, a discussion was held over the under construction building in Hamidia Hospital. In the meet, it was informed that the new building would have a capacity of 2,000 beds and would be equipped with all modern facilities including 24 operation theatres.
He assured to expedite the process of construction and to sort out other issues related to it soon. Shrivastav said patients and their relatives visiting the campus would receive facilities on par with international standards. He further instructed officials to ensure proper space for the visitors in the soon to be developed campus. He asked PWD officials to prepare the design in a way that building received maximum natural light and there should be proper drainage for sewage and water. Notably, the new hospital building is being developed for Rs 436 crore in Hamidia Hospital where there will be facilities of multi-level parking and landscaping.
Meanwhile, there is a short term inconvenience being faced by patients and their relatives in the hospital. Owing to the construction work, patients and their kin are now forced to walk at least 500 metres after parking their vehicles outside. The development work though is necessary for the campus, yet people feel there could be arrangements to ensure convenience to those coming for treatment. The distance from parking to the blood bank is quite long for someone who has to cover it on foot.
