Dharampuri: Hundreds of students from Government College, Dharampuri got smart phones during a programme organised here at college premises on Thursday. Local MLA Kalu Singh Thakur was the chief guest at the programme.
College principal Prof RC Verma chaired the function, while municipal council vice-president Suneel Mandloi, Krishi Upaj Mandi chairman Dr Krishna Patidar, BJP board president Revashankar Sharma, MLA representative Arun Malviya, BJP city president Akhilesh Jagpat graced the occasion as special invitees.
Thakur said smart phone is needed in present time as country is inching towards digital era and smart phones will help students to understand importance of digital world. Acting on principal’s demand, MLA approved the proposal of new pipeline laying work to help solve water scarcity problem in the college.
Earlier the guests were welcomed by senior Prof RR Palle, Dr PS Nargesh, Prof DS Thakur, Prof Arjun Gaure, Shantilal Patidar, PS Alawa, Vijay Kumar Barve and the students. Kirti Verma and Kiran Alawa presented Saraswati Vandana and Monika Kumrawat sang the welcome song. Principal Verma delivered welcome speech and Dr BS Ningwale hosted the event. Palle proposed the vote of thanks.
