Bhopal: Commissioner tribal department Deepali Rastogi has written to district collector Betul for initiating action against BJP MP Jyoti Dhurve after her caste certificate was proved to be fake. Commissioner tribal department dispatched a letter on February 6 asking collector Betul Tarun Pithode to take action in the case.
A copy of proceedings of high level scrutiny committee too has been attached with the letter. A senior retired official said that collector is the main authority who has the power to cancel the caste certificate. He will do this on the basis of recommendation made by the high powered scrutiny committee.
After cancellation of caste certificate, collector will also inform the ministry of Parliamentary Affairs (union government) about the decision. The ministry of parliamentary affairs will write to the election commission of India about the development. BJP MP Jyoti Dhurve still has legal options to explore and challenge the whole proceedings.
