Bhopal: Cold wave continued in Madhya Pradesh specially in eastern region of the state on Sunday. Mercury continued to hover around eight degree Celsius for the second consecutive days so there is little bit relief from biting cold. Districts under intense grip of cold wave include Khajuraho, Chhattarpur, Panna, Rewa, Mandla, Umaria, Seoni, Anuppur and Dindori.
Bhopal recorded a maximum temperature of 26.4 degree Celsius while it recorded a minimum temperature of 8.1 degree Celsius which was three degree Celsius below normal. Indore recorded a maximum temperature of 27.4 degree Celsius while it recorded 11.8 degree Celsius.
Cold weather combined with availability of moisture will result in foggy conditions in many districts. This moderate fog is likely to reduce visibility in concerning districts resulting in difficulty for commuters in morning hours. The temperatures will decrease gradually, due to the air mass flowing in this region. The sky conditions will remain mainly clear hence, day will be bright and sunny.
According meteorological department, Western Disturbance is moving across higher latitudes and can be seen over north Jammu and Kashmir. This system is resulting in northwesterly winds which are blowing over the entire northwest plains. These winds are dry and cold in nature and have its impact in Madhya Pradesh.
