BHOPAL: “All the civilisations, cultures and religions in the world flourished on the banks of rivers. Knowledge originated on the banks of Ganga, reclusion from the Yamuna and Brahmgyan originated from the banks of Narmada,” said well-known spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravishankar.
Sri Sri was speaking at a programme ‘Phagotsav’, held at T.T. Nagar Dussehra Maindan on Tuesday. CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan was also present on the occasion.
Appreciating the Narmada Seva Yatra , the founder of the Art of Living said, “It is very commendable job of Chauhan. He is doing the same work to preserve society which Aadi Snakracharya did eons ago. He is close to people despite being in power. He said, “rajneeti mein rahte hue dharmik logon ka kaam apne haathon mein liya….,” adding that ” Desh mein Bapu, Chacha, Didi, Amma huye but people of the state made him ‘Mama’ due to his humily.” He also appreciated him for his drives for empowering women, saving girl child, tree plantation and de-addiction and requested to people of devote an hour for de-addiction work . He also said our main to visit the state to participate in Narmada Seva Yatra.
Speaking about Nashmukti drive, CM Chauhan said “I said to Gurudev, it is better to stop people from drinking by convincing them rather than making laws. And from the March 1, all liquor shops would be closed on the both sides of Narmada rivers.”
