Bhopal: CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan, inaugurating a 200-kilowatt rooftop solar energy plant installed on the building of Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (MPBSE) in the state capital on Tuesday, said solar energy is an effective alternative to save environment.
He said, “Solar energy is a viable energy source not just for future but also for present times. MP has made its mark in the country in renewable energy production.” He said solar panels have been installed on government buildings for the production of solar energy. The cost of its installation could be recovered in merely three years.
He said the solar energy plant at Rewa is the first in the world which has production cost of 2.97 per unit. He urged every citizen to plant a tree for environment conservation and nurture it. He said it is the first step towards the saving of environment and life. Plantation campaign across the state would begin from July 15.
Chouhan appreciated the initiative of MPBSE in providing furniture in schools and updating infrastructure. He said the MPBSE would also run three more schools. He appreciated the initiative of the MPBSE to award five schools giving best results. He also felicitated the officers and employees of MPBSE for their exemplary services.
Board’s chairman RS Mohanti said the state stands first, following CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s efforts, in the production of solar energy and renewable energy. He said that MPBSE had provided various online facilities to the students and now it has also initiated in the field of solar energy production taking benefit of government policies.
