Bhopal: After a lull of about three months the CM Helpline has become active again. Higher education department has sought information on pending complaints from colleges and universities across the state- with instructions to clear the pendency in time limit. The directorate office of the higher education department issued a letter on Monday seeking information on pending complaints at CM Helpline. Instructions have been given to universities and colleges separately.

Authorities dealing with complaints made at CM Helpline at various levels have been told to resolve them in a prescribed time frame. According to information received from the higher education department 2215 complaints are pending redressal in 14 universities at Level 1 (L1). At L2 level 1029 complaints, at L3 level 241 while 331 complaints are pending at L4 level in the state run universities.

Details at the higher education portal states that 89,819 complaints were received in various universities. More than 85,546 complaints were closed in different categories including special close, not-connected close and partially close. Jiwaji University, Gwalior with 20,647 complaints was at the top. Pendency and closure of the complaints are also highest in Jiwaji University.

Another letter has been sent to address the complaints in colleges to the principals of the colleges who are also L1 officer, to principal of the lead colleges who also happen to be L2 officer and the additional regional directors or L3 officers in CM Helpline hierarchy for redressal. Higher education portal says that there are overall 898 complaints made at CM Helpline about government colleges from all districts. According to the figures provided by the department 405 cases are pending at L1 level, 58 at L2 level, 98 at L3 level and 337 at L4 level.

Thus in colleges the complaints are lying pending at the lowest and at the highest level. Maximum complaints 84 were found pending in Rewa district. CM Helpline became inactive after enforcement of the model code of conduct for assembly elections. Though portfolios haven’t been allotted but change in system is apparent with change in the government.
