Bhopal: CM directs collectors to take special care during wheat procurement

Bhopal: In wake of reports of middlemen becoming active in wheat procurement process in the state, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, has directed district collectors to file FIR against those who are involved in ill practices. Those who are cheating, in the name of farmers, should be sent to jail, Chouhan told district collectors during video conferencing here on Monday. He asked them to take full care during wheat procurement at mandis.

The collectors during interaction said that some people in the name of farmers were carrying out ill practices at the mandi. They also expressed apprehension that these people, in the garb of farmers, may disturb peace. Chouhan said the beneficiaries getting themselves registered under ‘Mukhyamantri Jan-Kalyan Yojana’ will be eligible to avail the benefits from April 1, 2018. Those registered under the scheme will not be deprived of the benefits of other schemes and they would continue availing them, he added.

Elaborating further, CM said the eligible applicants will not be deprived of the financial assistance in the absence of registration verification. There will be no age bar for medical facility, The government hospitals of neighbouring states will also be linked under ‘Bimari Sahayata Yojana’, said the chief minister.

Chouhan said public representatives and administration must actively participate in the implementation of ‘Mukhyamantri Jan Kalyan Yojana’. He said a registered beneficiary will get benefit of flat bill scheme if his electricity bill is less than Rs 1000 and has connection of not more than 500 watt. A beneficiary will pay Rs 200 for electricity bill.

Chief Minister also directed the officials to constitute vigilance committees by June 13. Each committee will have five members including a woman and a representative belonging to SC/ST category. The committee will be constituted after approval from minister who is in charge of the district.

Chouhan said the government would pay the fee of the selected candidates, who have cleared NEET examination, for taking admission in private medical colleges. Similarly, the government will also pay fee of students securing up to 1.5 lakh rank in JEE examination.
