Bhopal: In a clear message, the Chief Minister Kamal Nath has directed the health department officials to pull up their socks or be ready to face music. Directing the officials to ensure proper medical services to patients at the government-run hospitals, Nath said no lapses on their parts would be tolerated.
The Chief Minister on Wednesday instructed the chief secretary SR Mohanty to give his message to concerned official that the government has changed and no laxity, negligence and corruption would be tolerated. The officials would be held accountable for any lapse in services, the CM said. The hospital administration and doctors need to change their working style and become more sensitive and prepared.
Patients coming to the hospitals should be given proper treatment on time and arrangements for stretcher, beds and other medical requirements should be ensured, the health officers have been told. Instances of careless handling of patient, pregnant women, shortage of medicines, absence of doctors in OPD, avoiding admission to patients in IPDs, non-working ambulance would not be tolerated, said CM.
Asking them to remain vigilant, Nath said that surprise inspections will be conducted from time to time and careless doctors or the officials would be taken to task. He also asked the hospital administration to submit their requirement details regarding the staff and other supplies and necessities requirements to the government. He assured that the vacant posts will be filled as early as possible.
