Bhopal: Police are still clueless about the accused who kidnapped twins from a school bus in Satna on Tuesday. Taking the matter seriously, the DGP announced reward of Rs 50,000 on the accused, on Wednesday. IG Makrand Deouskar said two children were kidnapped by two masked men on Tuesday from Sadd Guru school bus.
He said that the police had not found involvement of any gang in the kidnapping. Involvement of the Babli Kol gang, which is quite active in the area, is ruled out. At present, the SPs of Rewa and Satna are jointly investigating the case and they also alerted police of other adjoining districts.
The MP police had contacted its counterpart in UP and sought their help in the matter. Because the district is bordering UP and it is possible that kidnappers from that state might have entered MP. The IG further said that till date the kidnappers have not given ransom call to the family. He claimed that the kidnappers would be arrested soon.
Clueless cops announce…
Two children— Devansh and Shivansh— of pharmaceutical company owner Brijesh Rawat were kidnapped from the school bus at gunpoint. The children are residents of Ramghat in Chitrakoot Dham (Karwi) district in UP. They travelled four km across the border to the school every day, said Satna district superintendent of police Santosh Singh Gaur. He said that the family had not received any ransom call so far.
“We are working with the UP police to rescue the twins, he added. “We have got some inputs and we are working on them,” he said, adding that the police have picked up six to eight persons for questioning, but were to get any strong leads. The incident could be the fall-out of previous enmity somebody might have with the children’s father, who is an oil trader, or his family, another police official said.
Tweeting on the issue, former chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said: “When I was CM, I had declared that either the dacoits will live in the state or I.” He also criticised the law and order situation of the state. Congress spokesperson Narendra Saluja also came forward and alleged that “In the regime of ex-CM, 23,000 children were kidnapped, the Congress government is trying to wash the taint”. He also claimed that the ex-CM had lost his credibility and he has no right to point finger on the Congress government.
