Bhopal: A student of class VIII lodged a complaint of rape against a youth with whom she became friends with during a wedding around two months ago. The youth on pretext of marriage allegedly raped the girl on several occasions and later refused to tie knot with her. The accused has been arrested and sent to judicial custody. The 16-year-old victim resides in area under Mangalwara police station and studies in a private school. In her complaint the minor told police that she came in contact with the accused, Vishal Onkar at a wedding function around two months back.
The two exchanged their phone numbers and started chatting with each other. Soon after, the youth proposed to her which she accepted. Promising to tie knot with her, Vishal took the girl to a house located near school in Kotra Sultanabad area and the two got intimate.
On pretext of marriage, the youth continued to have physical relations with her. The girl in her complaint said that Vishal later started avoiding her and even switched off his mobile phone. The girl somehow managed to meet Vishal and confronted him. The youth told her that he had married another girl and was not interested in continuing their relationship.
The girl then approached Kamla Nagar police station and lodged a complaint against the youth. On the basis of her complaint, police have booked the youth under section 376 of the IPC and relevant sections of POCSO Act. Vishal was arrested on and was produced in the court on Wednesday. He has been was sent to jail.
