Bhopal: The terminal state in which the city bus terminuses stand today exposes the lethargic attitude of concerned authority. Bhopal City Link Limited (BCLL), which runs public transport and has been handed over the responsibility to maintain the bus terminus have partially failed in its duties. While AC buses have been introduced in the city, however, when it comes to the maintenance of the bus terminus, the authorities have failed miserably.
The bus terminus at Mata Mandir, Rangmahal Talkies, Awadhpuri, Jinsy are such invulnerable state that people commuters prefer standing outside waiting for their bus. The lack sitting arrangements, proper shelter besides inadequate lighting are the major concerns of the commuters.
These terminuses with broken chairs, decrepit floor tiles, crumbling roof provide little protection from heat and rain. Stray animals keep wandering in and around these bus stands, while this is also a favoured haunt for the beggars and destitute looking for shelter. Water puddle in front of bus stand makes it inaccessible for commuters particularly elderlies. BCLL administration has completely failed to maintain these terminus, which are frequented by commuters day in and day out.

In most of the case, we have noticed that vendors run business through the bus terminus as they open their outlet adjoining the stand and use the space for keeping their stuff.”

I have brought this notice of BCLL administration the unkempt bus stands and other commuters should also raise the issue as public transport is for all and it is our duty to cooperate with administration in this regard.”
