BHOPAL: Minister for housing and urban development Bhupendra Singh has said that the consumers are facing problem to deposit property and other taxes because of the pandemic which has rendered many of them jobless.
Keeping that on mind, the administration has decided to give relief on surcharge over various taxes. Such relaxations were given to the consumers when the first wave of the pandemic spread, he said. If property tax up to Rs 50,000 is due, the consumers will get 100% relief on surcharge.
If the property tax up to Rs 100,000 is due, the citizen concerned will be given 50% relief on surcharge.
Similarly, if the outstanding property tax is more than Rs 100,000, the customer will get 25% relief, he said.
If the property tax is deposited by July 31, no surcharge will be taken from April to June.

Water tax: Zero surcharge on tax up to Rs 10K
As far as the water tax is concerned, a consumer will be given 100% relief on surcharge against tax up to Rs 10,000.
The consumers whose water tax is more than Rs 10,000 and up to Rs 50,000 will get 75% relief on surcharge.
If the water tax is more than Rs 50,000, 50% relief will be given on surcharge.
The relief will be given only to those citizens who will deposit taxes by August 31.
