Bhopal: On the auspicious occasion of Eid, leaders of Christian and Sikh communities extended greetings to Muslim brethren to spread the message of communal harmony and peace.
Archdiocese of Bhopal extended greetings on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr to religious leaders of Muslim community. Archbishop Leo Cornelio along with Christian representatives visited community leaders and extended greetings. He said, “Let us unite ourselves in the power of the spirit with our Muslim brothers and pray that their obedience and self-denial be a source of divine fulfillment for themselves and for the whole world.”
For the Muslims, the feast days are days of concentrated religious feelings focussed on Allah and on fellow Muslims. Fr Maria Stephen, PRO in his address stressed the importance of fast and said the auspicious occasion should be used to spread the message of peace in the world.
Meanwhile, members of Sikh community too erected a stage at Idgah from where they showered flowers and extended greetings to the Muslim community. The Sikh community has been erecting the stage every year since 1994 to celebrate the festival.
