BHOPAL: Magsaysay Award winner famous environmentalist Rajendra Singh has said that CM Chouhan was restoring the dignity of water, women and rivers. Politicians of other states should take cue from him. “This campaign is not just a formality but it is an effort to link all the sections of society to accomplish this important work of river conservation,” Singh said adding, “We all have to work together to save the world’s environment from pollution.”
Renowned vocalist Pt Jasraj said the work being carried out by Chouhan was taking the society along for river conservation, which was unimaginable. Several rivers in the world were victims of pollution. The work being undertaken by the energetic CM was laudable, he added. “We all are responsible for making the rivers pollution-free,” Pt Jasraj said.
Both had joined the Narmada Seva Yatra at Ghat Pipaliya in Raisen district on Thursday. Speaking on the occasion, Chouhan said public participation was must to achieve the aims of Narmada Seva Yatra. It was difficult for the government to achieve it alone. Chouhan mentioned that water flow in other rivers of the state beside Narmada was diminishing constantly. He appealed to the people to protect other water sources too beside rivers. “Do not let go water waste during rainy season. Future generation will not forgive us if we do not awake at the right time for river conservation,” the CM said. Mineral Development Corporation chairman Shiv Choubey conducted the programme.
