BHOPAL : The counsel for chief minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan on Saturday opposed MPCC spokesman K K Mishra’s plea to recall witnesses in the defamation case.
Placing his argument, Chouhan through counsel told court that witnesses have been examined once and therefore there is no need to call them for re-examination. The court of Additional District Judge Kashi Nath is hearing the case. The next hearing will take place on October 3.
Chouhan had filed the defamation case on July 26, 2014, against Mishra for leveling allegations against his wife Sadhna Singh in Vyapam scam.
Mishra had alleged that Sadhna Singh was involved in Vyapam scam in addition to ‘‘a very powerful person in MP’’. As per the scam, recruitment process was manipulated through the examinations conducted by MP Professional Examination Board.
Advocate Ravi Patidar, who appeared on behalf of KK Mishra, said, “Court has fixed October 3 for arguments whether the witnesses should be recalled. We had filed the petition to recall witnesses in defamation case.”
