Taking a strict stand on irregularities in the examination, Chancellor Anandiben Patel has directed universities to check all type of malpractices. She had expressed her displeasure over recent reports and issued strict instructions to check irregularities in the recently held meeting of coordination committee of the universities. Governor said that all type of irregularities that have plagued the examination system should be stopped immediately.
All the loopholes that provide opportunity for any wrongdoing in the examination system should be plugged with immediate effect. All irregularities before exam and after exam should be stopped, said the Governor. She was referring to recent reports of exam question paper being leaked before exams and exam copies being checked by students that was outsourced through a guest faculty.
All universities were instructed to issue computer generated marksheets and to provide corrections immediately without harassing the students. She also stressed upon need to improve NAAC grading of the universities- so much that students from abroad come to take admissions here.
Addressing the vice chancellors of the universities she said that VCs should remain available in the university for at least 25 days. If they leave university they should inform authorities about it along with the reason for leaving the campus. A representative of IT cell of Raj Bhawan made a presentation on DG lockers. He also explained the importance of DG lockers and its relation with the Digital India programme. All VCs were advised to spread awareness about DG lockers to the teachers and students as well.
