Full bench of Election Commission (EC) led by chief election commissioner OP Rawat on Tuesday reached the state to review the poll preparation. They met the officials of Indore, Ujjain and Narmadapuram and expressed satisfaction with the poll preparations. ECs Ashok Lavasa and Sunil Arora were also present. The bench met with nationally recognised political parties in Bhopal.
‘No action against JAP officials’
The party also claimed that various government employees are secretly working for the BJP and actions should be taken against them for influencing the elections. The party also lodged a complaint with CEC alleging that actions were not taken against actual offenders in the complaint against jan abhiyan parishad officials lodged by the party. Congress alleged that they had submitted substantial evidences against JAP officials working in favour of ruling party and yet sufficient actions were not taken.
Congress’ flurry of plaints
Congress once again lodged several complaints with the EC, bringing back the issue of discrepancies in the electoral roll. Congress’ legal cell in-charge JP Dhanopia said that duplicate entries are still evident in the electoral roll, even after several rounds of rectification by the commission. He said that name of a single voter can be found in different polling stations of a single constituency.
