BHOPAL: Finance minister Jayant Malaiya, speaking in a meeting of Task Force Committee constituted for cashless transaction, here in the city on Wednesday, said that cashless system is necessary for making Indian economy strong. Efforts to make it popular will be made at village panchayat level.
Minister for woman and child development Archana Chitnis, minister of state (MoS) for cooperatives, Vishwas Sarang and senior officers were present in the meeting.
Malaiya said the committee is headed by additional chief secretary, forest and planning, economic and statistics.
It also includes representatives from cooperatives, panchayat and rural development, commissioner, directorate of institutional finance, general manager, Central Bank of India and State Bank of India. Malaiya said Hindi should be used for cashless transaction and there is need to impart training for it at large scale.
Minister for woman and child development, Archana Chitnis said women comprise of half of the population.
There is need to impart basic training to them to make cashless economy successful.
Chitnis said the department has made ‘e-Laxmi scheme’ to make cashless transactions popular.
