Bhopal: Campus placement: TCS picks 220 students from RGPV

Bhopal: IT giant Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has selected 220 students from Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya during a campus recruitment drive here on Monday.  The selected students, which include 88 females, belong to all branches of engineering and they will take up their jobs at the prestigious organisation on completion of their course in 2018.

Nearly 400 students participated in the drive, which was conducted for the undergraduate as well as the postgraduate programme. Various other companies like Trident, Netlink, Capgemini are also lined up to recruit the students.  The highest package offered to the students is Rs 9 lakh CTC which was offered by the Trident group whereas the minimum was Rs 3 lakh CTC.

RGPV, vice chancellor, Sunil Kumar Gupta, congratulated the students and said that the high number of placements reflects on the changing face of educational values imparted by us. He added that many more companies are lined up for the campus placements. Companies like Netlink, Trident will soon be visiting the University for the campus drive, he said.

He assured to extend full help to students who want to be entrepreneurs, saying that university will even provide funds. A MoU will soon be signed with the Entrepreneurship development Institute of India which is located in Ahmedabad to help such students, he said. The VC also informed that a psychometric test will also be conducted for the students.

Expressing satisfaction over the students getting good placements, RGPV registrar S K Jain said that it is a combined effort of the hard work of the students and the continuous efforts of the management. He added that more companies will be visiting the campus soon.
