BHOPAL: The State cabinet has taken some major decisions to benefit farmers by relaxing power tariff and will generate revenue by relaxing liquor policy. Targeting poor and farmers, the Cabinet, on Thursday, decided to charge electricity bill of Rs 100 up to 100 units. This decision will benefit at least 62 lakh people. Besides, farmers’ power bill will be halved up to 10HP motors (Ten hours powers). It will benefit large section of farmers in the state as they have been demanding for such kind of relaxation from a long time.
Under the Yuva Swabhiman Yojana, unemployed youths will be given employment of 100 days and they will be paid Rs 4,000 per month. As far employment is concerned, it will benefit 6.5 lakh youths of the state. Rs 800 crore will be spent on it. Decision has been taken to generate jobs for unemployed youths. Youths in the age group of 21 to 30 years can apply. Other eligibility criteria will be family income must be below Rs 2 lakh per annum. Youths will be imparted skill training in 180 civic bodies. These bodies will also make their registrations and provide jobs. The state cabinet also increased old-age pension from Rs 300 to Rs 600 under Social Pension Scheme. The state Government has initiated a social security pension scheme for elderly destitute people of the state. This scheme intends to provide financial assistance to the beneficiaries with a monthly pension.
