BHOPAL: The Election Commission of India, on Thursday, announced by-elections in Ater and Bandhavgarh assembly constituencies of the state. The two constituencies will vote on April 9 and the counting will be held on April 14. Nominations will be accepted from March 14. The last date for filing of nominations is March 21. The Ater constituency fell vacant following the death of Satyadev Katare, then leader of opposition in Vidhan Sabha while Bandhavgarh sitting MLA Gyan Singh was elected to Lok Sabha. With the ECI announcement, the election model code of conduct has come into force in Bhind and Umaria districts.
